Personally, I’d like to thank the many supporters and staff members of the convention (and club) of all these years as you guys are the reason why this convention has been so fun to work on. Its amazing to look back and see how much has changed yet so much has stayed the same… who would have thought that such great things could become from people who just joined together with a common cause and love of anime?
Of course… if people are not willing to band together and work towards such a huge project like OtakuOmaha is… its pretty much impossible to put on something that everyone will enjoy. Regardless of how stubborn I may be, I realize that at the end of the day, I am just 1 person. Since day 1, I have never had any intention to give less than 100% and put on a sub par convention experience and I do not plan on changing that anytime soon. While some things can be learned from mistakes and changes can be made to improve things… its impossible to pull off something like a convention without the proper foundation to put it on with.
While I do not know what the future will bring, I do know that I can clear the air and confirm the cancellation of this year’s convention. Over the next few weeks I will be winding down the business side of the convention (refunds, hotel talks, etc) until everything is cleared up. If anyone has any needs or questions, please feel free to send a message to the info@otakuomaha.com email address and I will see what I can do to help out.
Thanks again for being part of something awesome.

Just making a quick mention about our artist alley this year – we have sold through half of our tables so far so I thought I’d make a mention to anyone who wants to get a table – do so NOW!
Tables run just $35 – $55 if you want access to electricity and will be placed within our Dealers Room once again.
If you want to reserve a table or if you have any questions, email Justin at info@otakuomaha.com!
Dealers – we have finalized our contract and have it ready for you guys! Just email info@otakuomaha.com to get a copy of the contract right now – we will have it on the website shortly but it will be a few days as the webmaster has to help get it online.

Want to make a difference in how OtakuOmaha is run?
Have a cool idea for something that hasn’t been done before?
Didn’t like something from the past years and want to change things?
Do you enjoy helping fellow anime fans and would like to see everyone have a good time?
If any of these reasons sounds like something you’d say (or if you are just plan crazy which I guess is okay…) we want to talk to you! Help us make this year’s convention be a fun experience for everyone who attends.
We will be hosting an open staff meeting on Feb 7th at 7pm at the Comfort Inn. At this meeting there will be more information about perks (free badge! staff meet and greet with our guests! discounted hotel room! etc!) what would be expected (since you are who the attendance sees as the face of the con we gotta ask for you to behave) and an open forum for you to let us know what you think.
If you’d like to attend and need a ride please message me at info@otakuomaha.com and I’ll see what I can do. Like everyone else in the anime community – I would like for everyone to have a good time, so it is my goal to make it possible for us to have as much dedicated staff as possible at the convention to make things be possible.

Here is an update for everyone who is interested in going to our Ani-Rave on the 16th -
Blake and Austin had to cancel for our event so unfortunately they will not be permorming for us.
Karaoke will start by 6pm.
Food, drinks and assorted goodies will be available for purchase – if you are looking at staying the night at the Comfort Inn, please let them know that you are joining us for the event as they will get you a great rate and quite possibly we may be able to get something hooked up for our next event if there was enough interest in a group rate with the hotel.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the Rave – if anyone has any suggestions or ideas for our next promotional event, just let me know!
